Role Overview

We're looking for a Senior Research Scientist to lead data-driven projects focusing on women's health and family planning in developing countries. You'll manage the full lifecycle of survey collection-from planning to analysis-whilst leveraging R to unlock impactful insights. Please note: extensive hands-on experience with both survey collection and R is absolutely essential. Only candidates who meet these criteria will be considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Survey Collection & Data Analysis

    • Oversee the design, deployment, and analysis of large-scale surveys in multiple regions.
    • Develop and maintain data pipelines in R, ensuring high-quality data cleaning, manipulation, and reporting.
  • Statistical & Data Science Techniques

    • Apply robust data science methods (e.g. causal analyses, predictive modelling) to extract actionable insights.
    • Communicate findings effectively to technical teams, stakeholders, and funders.
  • Project Management

    • Lead end-to-end project delivery, setting milestones, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring on-time results.
    • Use GitHub or similar tools for version control and collaboration.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Extensive Expertise in R
    • Proven track record working with large datasets, statistical modelling, and data manipulation in R.
  • Hands-On Survey Collection Experience
    • Ability to design, deploy, and analyse surveys at scale, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management
    • Experience overseeing complex data-driven projects, meeting deadlines, and working across diverse teams.
  • Educational Background
    • An advanced degree is advantageous but not strictly required-real-world experience is what counts most.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with women's health and family planning challenges, especially in developing countries.
  • Previous collaboration with public health or health tech organisations.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to translate data findings into clear recommendations.

If this sounds like you, drop us your CV along with an overview of your proven experience using R for survey collection and analysis.
