MLC Partners is working with a Unitary Council to recruit a MTFS Consultant. This is an important and exciting short-term role with matrix reporting to the Finance Senior Management Team.

The Finance Team seek a suitably qualified and experienced Local Government Accountant to lead on the following areas

• Support with the preparation of the council’s budget and Medium-Term Financial Plan including scenarios analysis and interaction with other strategies, subsidiary companies’ business plan and Council 2040 strategy
• Implementation of the requirements of the CIPFA Financial Management Code and recommendations from Corporate Peer Challenge Review
• Supporting the management, monitoring and reporting of the council’s deficit recovery plan including transformation savings and carrying out financial due diligence as required
• The candidate will also contribute to the preparation of the Annual Budget Report and information provided to Policy Group and other Committees
• The candidate may be expected to undertake project related work as and when required

We will only be considering candidates who are able to demonstrate proven experience in these areas along with an in depth understanding of Local Government Finance, additionally be CCAB qualified.

The successful candidate will be required on-site one day per week.
