Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled mechanical engineer with a focus on design and development to join their team. The role involves creating and maintaining CAD drawings and models, contributing to new product development, and testing prototypes. This role will report to the Engineering Manager and is within a team dedicated to continual development while adhering to legal and health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and develop new products, as well as improve existing ones.

* Produce CAD drawings (AutoCAD/ SolidWorks) for product designs.

* Build and test prototypes in-house or with external suppliers.

* Support the Contracts Designers with drawing and design activities during peak times.

* Maintain product documentation, including manuals and technical specifications.

* Provide sales support with presentations and CAD blocks for new product adoption.

* Conduct site visits for product feedback or competitor analysis.

* Create and maintain standard drawings and manage drawing changes.

Requirements:

* Mechanical Engineering qualification (HNC or above).

* Minimum 2 years of design experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

* Practical assembly skills and an understanding of production processes, maintenance, and service requirements for conveyors and material handling equipment.

* Full driving licence.

* Strong attention to detail, time management, and initiative.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

* Enthusiastic and a strong communicator.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:00pm (30-minute lunch), Friday 7:30am - 1:00pm
