Are you passionate about supporting students and making a positive impact in their educational journey? Our vibrant mainstream secondary school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team immediately. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with students, enhancing their learning experiences and contributing to their personal and academic development.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and group support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), facilitating their learning and engagement in classroom activities.
Assist teachers in implementing tailored educational programs and interventions to support individual learning plans.
Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to thrive.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, educational psychologists, and external specialists.
Help with classroom management and organisation, ensuring a safe and structured learning space.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to SEND and effective learning strategies.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is essential.
A current DBS certificate on the update service is required.
Experience with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is crucial.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
A patient, compassionate approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
