Location: Blindley Heath, Lingfield, RH7 6JP

Salary: £26,000 per annum

Hours: 8.30am-5.30pm Monday to Friday

Our client designs, manufactures and supplies high quality elegant and aesthetic glass balconies. 

The Role

They currently have an exciting opportunity within their Quality Department.  They are looking for a dedicated and highly motivated individual who will be responsible for ensuring that their product meets all quality standards before it goes to customer.

The organisation is located in a rural area with very limited public transport, therefore own transport is preferable.

Key Responsibilities

Following all the quality control policies/procedures and ensuring quality check procedures are followed at every stage of production.
Inspecting final product to ensure goods produced meet Quality Standard criteria.
Pro-actively identify quality issues and bring to the attention to your line manager.
Documenting any quality issues and creating a system for recording such documentation.
Ensuring the checklists are filled for every single order and if required coordinate with production to make sure it gets done and filled.
Quality check of packages before loading on to the lorry.
Working collaboratively with the Production Management team
Process all internal production rejects, manage the quarantine and inspection procedure.
Gather the data on daily, weekly, and monthly basis to identify material waste drivers.
Minimise scrap and customer return by instigating containment and root cause countermeasures as required.
Checking of supplier product quality.
Daily Tasks Include:

Order QC check:

Responsible for doing the QC checks for all metal works, glass, accessory for registered partner orders.
Candidate must make sure all the quality check procedures are followed at every stage. Must ensure the checklists are filled for every single order and if required coordinate with production to make sure it gets done and filled.
Responsible for doing the QC checks for accessory boxes.
Responsible for inspecting orders on the lorry before they leave (Balustrade or Custom Juliet order).
Supplier Part QC Check:

Responsible for doing the QC checks for materials or parts sourced from suppliers.
Records number and types of defects noticed or encountered while sampling some products. Report the issue to the concerned department at the earliest.
Scrap investigation:

Responsible for doing the Scrap investigation.
Gather the data on daily basis to identify material waste drivers and prepare a report for it.
Return investigation and management:

Return order QC check and handing them over to production to reutilise.
Production Quality Improvement:

Guide the production team about the quality control issues to enhance the quality of the product. Offer recommendations to improve the production process and thereby the quality of the product.
Frequently look at customer satisfaction levels regarding the product; meet with Quality specialist (complaint handler) to receive any feedback and adjust the checks accordingly.
Observing the methods and equipment manufacturing employees use during production and giving them advice to correct errors and increase efficiency.
Health and Safety:

Candidate must monitor all Health and Safety requirement. Comply with Health and Safety requirement, company policy, and procedure that apply to the job.

Provide product training to manufacturing staff

Any other task assigned by Quality Manager
Skills and Qualifications

Able to use 2D auto Cad LT
Ability to read and interpret Technical Drawings and specifications.
Worked in a quality or materials inspection role.
The ability to analyse the quality and performance of a product.
An understanding of industry safety standards.
The ability to work well with others.
The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Flexibility and openness to change.
