Job Title: Audit Manager

Location: Flexible working opportunity available in North, South, West, East London, or Central London.

Reports to: Directors and Regional Director

To manage a portfolio of audit and assurance assignments, ensuring their effective and timely completion while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role may require occasional visits to other member firms as needed. You will also assist in the growth of the practice through the management of current clients and the acquisition of new clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and carry out audit assignments for clients.
  • Ensure the audit team is on track and completing work within the allocated timetable and budget.
  • Control and supervise junior staff both in the UK and in India.
  • Communicate with clients regarding the progress of the audit and meet with them to discuss audit and accounts-related matters.
  • Advise clients on areas for business improvement and negotiate the terms of business as required.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing and receipt.
  • Maintain regular dialogue with the team in UK and offshore.
  • Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through CPD courses, workshops, and participation in professional societies.
  • Travel to other group offices and related clients as reasonably required.
  • Assist the business development team in acquiring new clients.
  • Meet prospective clients, discuss requirements, and create proposals (with assistance from Directors as needed).
  • Extend the value chain by introducing new services to existing clients at all touch points.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience (ACA/ACCA) ideally in a practice environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS (consolidation experience is essential, especially with overseas subsidiaries).
  • Sound knowledge of ISA’s, good report writing skills, and the ability to manage a team of up to 10 staff.
  • Competent with CaseWare, IRIS, and familiar with the Mercia methodology.
