Your new companyHays have been approached by a school in the Preston area that are looking to secure a Primary School Teacher for Year 1 on a full-time basis. This will operate until the Easter break as a minimum with the potential for this to be extended further. The staffing team are extremely helpful and are happy to welcome either an experienced teacher or an ECT/NQT teacher into the role. This school has a solid leadership team that places high importance on staff wellbeing and the school was rated 'Good' by OFSTED.Your new roleAs with any teaching role, you will take on full responsibility for this class, which will include planning and delivering fun, exciting lessons for the children as well as marking work and assessing children's ability. You will be expected to attend staff meetings and any parents evenings that are scheduled. This year 1 class has a diverse range of pupils from different backgrounds, with various levels of ability, making this an ideal class for a newly qualified teacher. You should have strong behaviour management skills, but the behaviour and progression within the class is good, and you will be supported by an experienced teaching assistant.What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess Qualified Teacher Status and have good knowledge of the KS1 Curriculum. You need to be a good team player, have good time management and behaviour management skills.
