Financial Accountant

• Hourly rate: £26.00- £28.00 Per hour PAYE or £34.00- £36.00 per hour via an umbrella company.
• Length of assignment: 6-9 months.
• Location: Sutton (close to the train station) - Hybrid working 2-3 days in the office and the rest form home.
• Job Type: Full-time, 36 hours per week- 08.45- 16.30

Are you a dynamic and experienced Financial Accountant looking for an exciting opportunity to shape finance policies and drive financial strategy? We are in a pivotal phase of development and need someone who can start immediately or on short notice.

About the Role: As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in financial management and strategy, ensuring effective internal controls and compliance with external reporting requirements. You will oversee cash flow reporting and treasury management, support key decision-making processes, report on financial risks, and contribute to the implementation of a new finance system. Collaboration with the Finance Senior Leadership Team, Finance Business Partners, and other internal stakeholders will be essential to enhance financial practices and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the development of cash flow reporting and treasury management.
• Ensure effective internal controls and compliance with external reporting requirements, VAT, and statutory accounts preparation.
• Support key decision-making processes, report on financial risks, and contribute to the implementation of a new finance system.
• Work closely with the Finance Senior Leadership Team, Finance Business Partners, and other internal stakeholders to enhance financial practices and outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Proven financial accounting experience, preferably in the education sector or accounting practice.
• Strong exposure to VAT returns.
• Proficient in using different accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organisational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of current educational issues is desirable.
