Control Systems Engineer

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum

Company Overview: KAP Technical is excited to offer an opportunity for a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our client’s team.

Our client specialises in projects within the manufacturing, sectors.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

1. Software Development:
   • Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA software to meet project requirements.
   • Write detailed functional design specifications.
   • Create associated documentation for software and hardware solutions.
2. Customer Interaction:
   • Communicate with customers to understand their requirements.
   • Provide engineering proposals, including cost estimates.
3. Project Management:
   • Adhere to project budgets and deadlines.
   • Deliver projects with control software and process safety systems engineering design.
4. Systems Design and Commissioning:
   • Carry out full control systems design.
   • Perform site commissioning.
   • Provide post-installation support.
5. Qualifications and Skills:
   • Minimum 3 years of experience in PLC, HMI, and SCADA software development.
   • Clean driving license.
   • Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
   • Familiarity with industrial networks (e.g., Profibus, Profinet).
   • Knowledge of safety systems design and programming (advantageous).
   • Experience with Siemens PLC preferred (training provided).
6. Additional Considerations:
   • Willingness to occasionally work away from home and on weekends.
   • Ability to understand electrical drawings.
   • Background in engineering environments.
