Our client, a leading precision engineering company, is seeking a proactive Supplier Development Engineer to enhance and strengthen their supply chain operations. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to a high-performing team and drive improvements across quality, delivery, and cost.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement product control plans with measurable KPIs to track supplier performance and compliance.

* Design and deliver an effective supplier development strategy tailored to key suppliers.

* Collaborate with suppliers to implement Lean techniques and remove waste while maintaining compliance with company standards.

* Monitor and improve supplier on-time delivery and quality performance through regular reviews and feedback.

* Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing performance statistics and facilitating corrective and preventive actions.

* Conduct supplier audits and assist in qualifying new components and suppliers.

* Work closely with internal teams to ensure supplier processes align with quality and delivery expectations.

* Lead supplier reviews to address current and future requirements and improvement opportunities.

* Drive cost reduction, inventory optimisation, and lead-time improvements within the supply chain.

About You:

Essential Experience and Skills:

* Demonstrated experience in developing and sustaining programmes to meet Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) requirements.

* Strong knowledge of supply chain improvement tools (e.g., Control Plans, PFMEA, KPIs, SPC, and process mapping).

* Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and internal teams.

* Excellent communication skills for both verbal interactions and documentation.

* Self-motivated with strong time management and organisational abilities.

* Proficient in IT tools, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

* Familiarity with MRP or ERP systems.

* HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent qualification.

* AS9100 or ISO Auditor training.

* Security clearance to SC level is advantageous.
