Senior Accounts Receivable Assistant, Higher Education. Temporary, 4 weeks. Central London. 35 hours a week, £18.19 per hour.

Are you an experienced Senior Accounts Receivable Assistant who can assist with the management and control of a busy cash counter within a large and diverse organisation?

Do you have exceptional attention to detail when posting transactions? Can you promptly identify and post income? Can you raise sundry invoices and provide the credit control for these debtors?

One of the word’s leading centres for research and postgraduate education is looking for a Senior Accounts Receivable Assistant to provide immediate short-term support to their Assistant Financial Accountant.

Example responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable Ledger:

  • Preparation of all sundry sales ensuring that VAT is correctly coded; processing of CAF and Just Giving receipts relating to donations
  • Downloading and inputting of online store income and refunds onto the General Ledger

Debt Collection:

  • Debt collection of all sundry invoices, referring debts to a debt collection agency
  • Liaise with other departments re their debts

Finance Office Counter:

  • Provide a customer-orientated counter service during opening hours
  • Ensure all cash payments and receipts are correctly recorded and accounted for on Agresso
  • Cashing up of the counter at least once a week and placing a Cash order to ensure the counter can operate smoothly with no shortage of cash. Ordering of foreign currency when demand requires

Ideally your CV will demonstrate:

  • Experience of handling cash and providing a cashier service
  • Extensive experience of working in an Accounts Receivables team in a medium or large organisation
  • Good understanding of accounting fundamentals e.g. double-entry bookkeeping and an awareness of money laundering and fraud prevention
  • Ability to work independently, without supervision and be able to guide other team members
  • Highly computer literate, including the use of complex spreadsheets
  • Experience of working in a multi-currency environment
  • Experience of using Agresso Financials
  • Previous experience of accounts receivable work within a University or Higher Education environment
  • Knowledge of Excel to advanced level
