MERITUS are recruiting for a Skilled Aircraft Fitter to join our client in Filton on an initial 12 month contract. PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST BE ABLE TO START THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER & YOU MUST HAVE AN NVQ LEVEL 2 & 3 UPON APPLICATION.

SKILLED AIRCRAFT FITTER - INSIDE IR35 - £26.64 PER HOUR - VIA UMBRELLA - FILTON, GLOUCESTERSHIRE - 12 MONTHS - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS

We are looking for an experienced Aircraft Assembly Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks using engineering instructions and aircraft drawings to meet industry standards. This role requires a hands-on approach, working with power tools, and may involve physically demanding tasks, including confined space work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret Engineering Drawings: Accurately work from engineering instructions and understand detailed aircraft blueprints.
  • Perform Precision Tasks: Use power tools for drilling, shimming, sealing, and other assembly processes, ensuring all tasks meet required standards.
  • Certification: Obtain 1st party certification upon completion of necessary training courses.
  • Confined Space Work: Be prepared to work in restricted spaces, such as inside aircraft tanks, which involves maneuvering through oval-shaped manholes and other tight areas.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Apprenticeship in Aerospace or Engineering: Completed a full apprenticeship in a recognized aerospace or engineering discipline.
  • Educational Credentials: Possess qualifications such as Indenture and City & Guilds Level 2, BTEC ONC, Modern Apprenticeship Certificate, NVQ Level 2 or 3, and Key Skills Level 2 in a relevant engineering field.
  • Self-Motivated and Communicative: Demonstrates initiative with strong communication abilities.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Capable of working effectively alone or within a team environment.
  • Commitment to Improvement: Open to adopting new methods and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Health and Safety Awareness: Possess thorough knowledge of and respect for health and safety regulations.
