Job Description:

As a Manual Lathe Operator, you will play a critical role in delivering precise and high-quality engineering solutions. You will be responsible for machining components to meet tight tolerances while ensuring compliance with safety standards. This position involves the use of internal/external micrometers for precision measurements and may require reverse engineering of turned components. You will work on a range of engineering challenges, including problem-solving during customer breakdowns and assisting with apprentice training plans.

In addition to your technical skills, you'll need to be proactive in identifying tooling needs and ensuring job cards are followed closely. A willingness to work overtime during urgent customer breakdowns is essential.

Skills & Experience:

We are looking for a Manual Lathe Operator with the following qualifications and experience:

* Time-served as a Manual Lathe Operator with a proven track record

* Experience with drive system assemblies, including shaft tolerances, bearings, and keyways

* Ability to use Alpha-Cam or similar programming (preferred but not essential)

* Proficient in measuring and reverse-engineering components

* Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset

* Familiarity with health and safety standards, with the ability to mentor apprentices
