Overview:Prospero Teaching is recruiting a motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a primary school in Heywood. The role involves assisting with classroom activities, covering classes in teacher absence, and leading interventions to support student learning and progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Support: Assist with lessons, ensuring students stay engaged and focused.
- Cover Classes: Manage the classroom in the absence of the teacher, maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Lead Interventions: Run small and large group interventions, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
- Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment.
- Support Individual Needs: Provide additional help to students, including those with SEN.
- Communication: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff regarding student progress.
- Safeguarding: Ensure the well-being of all students by following safeguarding procedures.

- Position: Teaching Assistant
- Contract Type: Long-term (Ongoing)
- Start Date: November 2024
- Full-Time: Yes, 08:20 AM - 3:45 PM
- Rate of Pay: £90+ per day
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualifications: Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience: At least 12 weeks of experience working in a UK school setting.
- Training: Up-to-date safeguarding training (desirable, but training will be provided).
Eligibility Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
- Two professional references from educational settings
