Our public sector client are looking for an Operational Support Assistant to join them on a temporary basis.

Location: Mountsorrel Depot (with occasional support at Croft Depot, as required)
Hours: 22 hours per week over 3 days (flexible working arrangements considered)
About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Operational Support Assistant to join our team, primarily based at our Mountsorrel Depot. This pivotal role supports our operational services through a variety of administrative and customer-facing tasks. While primarily stationed at Mountsorrel, the successful candidate should be prepared to occasionally work from Croft Depot, with appropriate notice provided.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide high-quality administrative support to operational teams, ensuring efficiency and compliance with internal processes.

* Deliver exceptional customer service by assessing incoming queries and responding in a timely and effective manner.

* Conduct data entry, analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making across the service.

* Communicate professionally with a range of stakeholders via phone, email, and in person, including preparing and delivering presentations when necessary.

* Support the development and ongoing improvement of administrative systems and workflows.

* Contribute flexibly to team priorities and be willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks as required.

* Travel between depots or to other locations across the county when business needs arise (with notice).

Key Skills and Experience

* Proven experience in administrative processes and procedures, ideally within a service delivery environment.

* Experience working in a customer-facing role, demonstrating strong assessment and problem-solving skills.

* Strong data analysis capabilities and a good working knowledge of common software tools (e.g. Excel, Word, databases).

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to engage with diverse audiences.

* Ability to develop, embed and maintain efficient administrative procedures to support operational success.

* Flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to learning and supporting varied tasks.

* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or equivalent travel arrangements) to allow movement between locations when needed.
