School Finance Administrator at Independent school

Are you a detail-oriented and highly organized professional with a background in finance? Would you like to work in a vibrant and supportive independent school environment? We are looking for a dedicated School Finance Administrator to join our finance team.

Role: School Finance AdministratorLocation: SuttonContract Type: Full Time - 40 hours per weekStart Date:Salary: £15-16

As the School Finance Administrator, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and efficiency of the school. You will work closely with the finance team to manage day-to-day financial operations and provide essential support in the smooth running of the school's financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices, receipts, and payments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the school budget.
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial records.
  • Maintain accurate financial spreadsheets and databases.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Manage school fee payments and liaise with parents regarding outstanding balances.
  • Provide administrative support for financial audits and other compliance requirements.
  • Handle payroll processing and staff expense claims.
  • Maintain financial records in accordance with school policies and statutory regulations.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience in finance administration, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Be proficient in financial software (e.g., Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Be able to prioritize tasks and work efficiently to deadlines.
  • Have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be trustworthy and able to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • AAT qualification or similar is desirable, but not essential.
