Adecco are recruiting TWO Senior Planners on behalf of our Public Sector client.

Senior Planner
Public Sector - Local Authority based in Wandsworth
Temporary Role - 3 months with likely extension
Full Time - Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
£22.70 per hour PAYE / £29.67 per hour Umbrella

ASAP start Key Responsibilities:

Independently manage a diverse caseload of complex and high-profile planning applications, ensuring timely and transparent decision-making.
Prepare well-reasoned officer reports based on relevant planning policies and material considerations.
Coach and supervise junior planning officers, fostering their skills and knowledge to enhance service delivery.
Identify and propose improvements and creative solutions to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
Present recommendations at Committee meetings and public forums, providing expert advice to Members and the community.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and industry best practises, and ensure compliance with data protection and health and safety regulations.What We Are Looking For:

A degree in planning or a relevant professional qualification, with membership of the RTPI or eligibility for full membership.
Comprehensive knowledge of planning legislation, policy guidance, and effective customer relations practises.
Proven experience in local government policy work, including the preparation of development plan documents.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and planning database systems, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and deliver complex planning applications within set timeframes.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to service delivery improvements.
