Project Engineer

Salary Range: £33,000 - £43,000

Reed Engineering are working with an innovative company who are looking for a Project Engineer to manage the technical and critical success factors of our projects throughout their lifecycle within the company. This role involves in-depth planning, design or collaboration with a design team, and technical management of R&D projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service focus, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive projects to completion according to plan.

Day to Day of the role:

• Manage and oversee the technical aspects of projects from inception to completion.
• Engage in in-depth planning and ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
• Design cryogenic equipment or work closely with the design team, including drawing checks.
• Provide technical input and manage R&D projects, coordinating teams effectively.
• Communicate with customers to understand their requirements and ensure satisfaction.
• Drive projects forward according to the project plan, ensuring milestones are met.
• Assist the sales team with technical specifications for tender documentation as needed.
• Understand and sometimes be involved in the wiring, testing, and installation of cryogenic instruments to contract specifications.
• Use, design, and develop processes to enhance products and improve company performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A degree in Physics or Engineering.
• Project engineering experience within an R&D or scientific environment.
• Cryogenic experience is desirable but not essential.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel worldwide for system installations as required.
