JOB PURPOSE
To provide adminIstration support to solicitor, legal assistant and team in areas of law related to Family/Public Law. You will be a skilled administrator or someone with relevant skills looking to get their first role within a Law Firm.
KEY TASKS
* To provide an efficient and cost effective admin legal support to team members.
* To open and close files on the firms case management system, ensuring accuracy at all times.
* To provide an efficient and organised mode of working and ensure all key dates on recorded on the firms case management diary system and fee earners diary..
* To record time recorded billable hours on behalf of fee earner and chase fee earner for up to date timesheets to ensure we do not fall behind.
* To check all letters sent off site for transcribing to ensure they are accurate, parties names are checked before the document is checked by the fee earner.
* Identify experts from the Firms Expert Register. Obtain quotations and secure relevant funding for the same
ACTIVITIES
* Ability to manage fee earners diary and ensure key dates are not missed.
* Ability to provide a full range of admin support to include but not limited to, preparing bundles, scanning documents, checking transcribed letters and formatting the same.
* Saving emails and documents on to the firms case management system in an organised manner so that they can be identified efficiently.
* Checking the LAA portal to ensure all notifications are dealt with.
* Time recording for fee earners as required.
* Save and record key dates of any Court Orders received.
* To work as part of a team with Partners, Solicitors, Fee Earners, other Trainees and Support Staff as and when appropriate.
* To provide a professional pro-active approach, excellent client care skills and ability to deal with client matters in a sensitive manner to deal with vulnerable clients and resolve complicated practicalities involved in Private Family Law matters and Public Law issues.
* To maintain confidentiality and compliance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
* To maintain the highest standards of client care with particular emphasis on courtesy, friendliness, honesty and helpfulness towards fellow members of staff, the public and external agencies.
* Excellent IT Skills, familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills
