ROLE: Estimator - Civil Engineering

LOCATION: Mid-Kent

SALARY: Circa 60,000 - £70,000 DOE

This organisation is a leading civil engineering contractor delivering projects across the Southern Home Counties. This organisation who are based in Mid Kent have a wealth of experience working on residential and commercial projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled and motivated Estimator to join our dynamic team.

THE JOB

This exciting Estimator job will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates, assessing project risks, and ensuring competitive yet profitable tender submissions. If you have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a passion for civil engineering, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering projects

* Analyse project specifications, drawings, and contract documents

* Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations

* Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to optimize costs

* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure feasibility

* Keep up-to-date with market rates, materials, and construction methods

* Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and contract negotiations

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

* Experience in estimating within the civil engineering or construction industry

* Degree/HND in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field

* Strong understanding of civil engineering processes, materials, and regulations

* Excellent negotiation, presentation, and report-writing skills

* Ability to analyse complex data and produce accurate costings
