Company Overview:We are a dynamic and growing company based in Camden, London, looking to recruit a Part-Time Accounts Assistant to support our finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong organisational and numerical skills to assist with the day-to-day financial operations of the business in a flexible and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including managing accounts payable and receivable.
  • Process invoices, receipts, and payments, ensuring accuracy and timely posting to the accounting system.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow management.
  • Help with the preparation of VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Support payroll processing, including reviewing employee hours and ensuring timely payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Update and maintain accounting records and spreadsheets.
  • Deal with general accounting queries from suppliers and customers.
  • Support the team with other ad hoc administrative and accounting tasks as needed.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar role is desirable.
  • A basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
  • Ability to work efficiently, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.

Preferred:

  • AAT qualification (or working towards) would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience with VAT returns and payroll is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Hours:

  • Flexible working hours, approximately 21 hours per week.
  • Option to work remotely for part of the week if needed.
