our clients are looking for a Structural Engineer to join them in their Bristol office. Ideally, the candidate would have around 4-6 years relevant experience within a similar UK consultancy, and due to the demands of the role any candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience.

Around 50% of this role will be site based, so candidates should be comfortable and willing to work on site, completing site surveys etc

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to become the 'right hand person' of the Associate Engineer, who is currently the only person working within Structures in Bristol.

It is expected that any future hires will be made underneath this one, and so the candidate for this role should also be experienced enough, and wanting to, guide and manage more junior/graduate engineers going forward.

Main Duties:

· Preparation and checking of structural engineering designs and drawings, specifications, reports and general correspondence.

· Liaise & communicate with external professionals and clients.

· Represent our client at meetings and in writing, when required, and attend site to undertake surveys and inspections.

· Control the programmed performance of projects.

· Brief and supervise Graduate Engineers.

· Brief and supervise Technicians on the production of drawings.

· Preparation of structural reports on buildings and other structures.

Requirments:

· In order to meet our expectations, you will need to be a degree qualified Engineer, aspiring to or working towards Incorporated or Chartered Membership of either the Institution of Structural Engineers or Institution of Civil Engineers.

· You will also need to demonstrate that you are capable of managing and leading.

· Have experience of working on a variety of projects.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
