Support Worker & Sport Coach

Pay Rate: £85- £95
Location: Wolverhampton
8.45am - 2:30pm
Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Support Workers, Sports Coaches, Psychology/ Criminology/ Sports Graduates, Childcare Practitioners and Carers (with personal and professional experience).

GSL Education are supporting schools and learning provisions with their full time and permanent recruitment.

GSL Education are seeking Support Workers (Care and Mental health backgrounds), Graduates, Carers, to work with primary and secondary aged pupils with a range of special educational and behavioural needs. You will be helping students progress socially and academically, as well as promoting independence as a Teaching Assistant.

Key Job Role Responsibilities:

Provide a personalised learning experience for all pupils
Assist with personal care where applicable
Provide support of the highest quality, following the direction of the class teacher
Support the delivery of lessons in-line with the Primary and Secondary School National Curriculum
Behaviour Management and Intervention Support
Provide a safe learning environment for students in your care
Work alongside other education professionals such as Education Psychologists, Social Workers and CAMHS
Ensure you are able to teach sports indoors and outdoors.
Ideal Support Worker attributes:

Have at least 6 months hands-on experience of supporting adults or young people with additional needs, such as Physical Learning Disabilities, Dyslexia Social and Emotional Mental Health, Aggression, PMLD, Dementia, Anxiety, Self Harm, Autism, ADHD, Learning and Medical Difficulties, Attachment Disorder and LAC/ Residential backgrounds - candidates with personal experience will also be considered for this role.
Have a calm and caring attitude, with a positive outlook on life.
Must be resilient within the job itself.
Requirements:

Enhanced DBS Child and Adult Check - Must be on the update service. (We can assist you with a DBS if you do not have one)
2x Educational References are a must in order to clear your file with GSL.
