Due to continuing growth, we have a requirement for a Purchasing Manager, who will have overall responsibility for all Purchasing and Goods-in Quality Control, leading a Purchasing team of 4 and 3 in the Quality Department.
The business specialises in the conversion of industrial materials handling equipment, for the detection of gas and explosives in hazardous areas, ensuring compliance to ATEX, Ex and IEC Ex.
You will be a highly experienced Purchasing Manager with experience of:
* Managing supply of fabricated and machined products, electronic and electrical proprietary components.
* Parts supply experience gained within a manufacturing or engineering industry
* Supplier selection, engagement, quality & audit
* Supply risk control
* Extensive material control
* Budgeting & spend
* Cost estimating and reporting
* CIPS qualified - ideally MCIPS
We are looking for a solid working history, demonstrable experience of day-to-day operational, medium and long-term tactical and strategic processes, comprehensive knowledge of MRP systems across supply chain functionality and strong people management skills, including performance and development.
Some overseas travel is required.
The position is also responsible for ensuring material flow from suppliers through stores to production is maintained effectively and efficiently, ensuring material delivery to schedule.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will work on strategic business planning meetings, planning, forecasting,reporting, analyzing and interpreting data.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic, proactive, driven and tenacious, who can step into a highly regulated business working within strict compliance and quality.
Salary is £50,000 to £55,000, with 25 days holiday with the option to purchase an additional 10 days of holiday, health cash plan, 5% employer pension contribution, life assurance, employee assistance programme plus a range of other benefits and well being initiatives.
