SHEQ Manager

Leigh, Greater Manchester

£50,000 + £7000 Car Allowance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Health and Safety Manager to work on behalf of a leading FM Service provider! In this role you will be responsible for sites across the North West of the UK where you will provide on-site SHEQ leadership, technical support and guidance to ensuring effective implementation and operation of the ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems.

You will have the support of a wider SHEQ team and report directly into the SHEQ Director while supporting and implementing requests to ensure that the products and/or services of the company meet the legal, moral and ethical compliance while achieving the highest quality standards. You will be expected to build effective relationships with the senior leadership team, on-site teams and customer representatives and the Central Support functions.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Able to lead, develop, maintain and support SHE management programmes and systems in written format and recording through face-to-face contact, communication, and team briefing;

* Develop and implement the SHEQ strategy to support action plan for regions;

* To advise and guide all levels within their project teams, Project Managers, Project Engineers, peers, operatives, supply chain and subcontractors;

* Full completion of duties of CDM coordinator as required by the Construction Design and Management Regulations;

* Full responsibility for company preparations for annual H&S audits and Quality Assurance.

* Assisting the business with the implementation of the ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 standards;

* Dealing with the HSE, Environment Agency, insurers and other bodies in the event of an incident;

* Assist in reviewing sub-contractor risk assessment and carrying risk analysis.

* Produce SHEQ reports for the SHEQ Director and team meetings, SLT meetings and project review meetings and updates;

* To ensure that group is kept abreast of changes in H&S legislation including the drafting of briefing notes, toolbox talks;

* Ensuring any incidents that falls within the scope of RIDDOR is reported to the HSE;

* Conduct visits (Guidance and Observations) on specified contracts across the business;

Qualifications Required

* Relevant experience of working as part of a SHEQ team

* Relevant experience of managing a SHEQ function with at least two years relevant construction or FM sector experience

* Experience in dealing with complex systems audits, both internal and external

* Up to date knowledge of UK legislation in relation to SHEQ

* NEBOSH General Certificate and NEBOSH Construction or L5/6 diploma in OHS
