Methodologist

Our public sector client is looking for an experienced Methodologist to develop, support and implement SAS solutions to maintain the existing pipelines and to implement continuous improvements and methods changes, including the addition of questions on the transport sector.

Day to day

Design, develop and implement a SAS solution to enable the new transport questions to be integrated into the quarterly ITIS survey results.

Maintain and improve existing SAS pipelines and workflows to enable effective data production, data manipulation, analysis, quality assurance and reporting.

Assist in reviewing and developing methods and processes and implementing changes to support the delivery of high-quality trade data.

Work closely with the ITIS team, wider Trade branch, and other stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into technical requirements and solutions.

Produce comprehensive documentation and maintain a change log to ensure a clear audit trail.

Adopt clear coding practice and annotation to support the longer-term management of the systems, by those less proficient in SAS, and help to build their knowledge.

Respond to any issues, updating code, as needed, in order to quickly resolve and remove blockers.

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and ensure that quality is at the core.

Skills and Experience

* Experience in SAS development with strong SAS programming skills (data manipulation and analysis)
* Strong statistical and data analysis skills
* Good problem-solving skills and ability to address complex problems
* Good communication skills (verbal and written) including ability to explain complex and technical matters to a lay audience as well as compiling technical documents
* Ability to work collaboratively and maintain good relationships with stakeholders
* Ability to respond to changing priorities, as needed, and to work at pace
* Skills in Python

* Active SC Clearance Desired - SC Eligibility Essential.*
