As an Integration System Architect within the SDAS function, you will play a crucial role developing solutions for the integration of cutting-edge systems onto air platforms. This exciting role offers the chance to work with a number of varied internal and external programmes, including the potential to help develop future international standards and systems.
Job Title: Integration System Architect
Salary: Circa £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
Location: Stevenage, Bristol or Bolton (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)
Dynamic (hybrid) working: We trust our people to agree, within their teams, where and when they can be most effective. Our Dynamic Working policy allows individuals flexibility around the hours they work and where they work. Typically, for this role you will work 2 days per week on-site.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
The opportunity:
As an Integration System Architect within the SDAS function, you will play a crucial role developing solutions for the integration of cutting-edge systems onto air platforms. This exciting role offers the chance to work with a number of varied internal and external programmes, including the potential to help develop future international standards and systems.
We are looking for flexible and motivated candidates to develop solutions for existing and future programmes, from initial concept scoping and project scoping through to delivery of prototype systems. The work is varied and blends elements of multiple engineering disciplines, providing a unique ability to take part in programme delivery from future concept evaluation, system architecture definition, prototype system development, and assisting in developing solutions for emergent technical issues
What we are looking for from you:
An experienced engineer with:
- Proven experience in developing complex systems, preferably in the defence industry
- Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to initiate and drive trade studies
- Experience of developing MBSE solutions with practical implementation
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information to a variety of stakeholders
- Experience developing requirement sets, and an ability to work with different stakeholder groups including Design Authorities, Aircraft Authorities
- Familiarity with system architecture tools, including DOORS and Rhapsody is desirable
- A level of project engineering knowledge to be able to design and deliver work packages
- Knowledge of any of the following areas would be highly beneficial: aircraft airworthiness and certification; integration and trials; aircraft Stores Management Systems; environmental requirements; EMC; UK MOD acquisition process
