Data Engineer (Contract)

We have a requirement for a Data Engineer to join our client based in Leicester on an initial 4-month contract. My client is a Financial Services company, who specialise in Pension Solutions.

Details:

• Data Engineer (Data Warehouse)
• 4 months (initial contract)
• Hybrid Remote (Leicester)
• £400/day (Outside IR35)

Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deliver robust ETL processes for the data warehouse (currently in SSIS).
• Maintain and improve existing ETL processes, optimizing for automation, data quality, robustness, and clear logging.
• Maintain technical documentation for the ETL & warehousing solution.
• Conduct code reviews, pair program, and share knowledge with other team members.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of SQL Server databases to ensure efficiency and reliability of the data warehouse.

Krey Skills / Experience:

• Proficiency in data modelling, ETL development, and data warehousing principles, with a strong understanding of database management systems.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL (preferably T-SQL) and 3+ years' experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Experience with cloud services (Azure) and understanding of cloud-native data services.
• Expertise in performance tuning and optimization of SQL Server databases.
