Join one of London's leading universities as a Payroll Manager on a fixed-term contract. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated payroll professional to oversee the universities payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.

Position: Payroll Manager

Location: London (hybrid working)

Duration: 10 months

Working hours: 0.8 FTE (4 days per week)

Annual salary: £49,575 - £58,385 pro rata to £39,660 - £46,708

Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership to the payroll team, ensuring effective delivery of the payroll and benefits life cycle
• Organise, plan and manage the delivery of all payroll operations
• Oversee quality processes for accuracy and risk mitigation (e.g., IR35 compliance, furlough schemes)
• Prepare and submit statutory returns to HMRC and other bodies
• Manage University pension schemes, ensuring compliance with regulations and handling complex issues
• Provide leadership and professional development to HR colleagues, promoting team values and collaborative working
• Stay updated on payroll and pensions legislation, providing expertise and advice to managers and staff

Experience Required:

• CIPP qualified
• Expertise with modern payroll systems
• Detailed and up to date knowledge of current legislation and compliance requirements related to the administration of payroll pensions and benefits
• Knowledge of GDPR
• Experience working in the Higher Education sector, or using Business World (Agresso) is highly desirable
