Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team. This role is perfect for an individual looking to develop their career in quantity surveying within a supportive and forward-thinking environment. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the Quantity Surveying team in managing costs and ensuring the financial success of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

* Cost Management: Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.

* Tendering: Support the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and selecting suppliers and subcontractors.

* Valuations: Assist in the preparation of interim valuations, final accounts, and project cost control.

* Contract Administration: Support the administration of contracts, including managing variations and ensuring compliance with contractual terms.

* Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess progress, measure works, and ensure that projects are on track and within budget.

* Data Analysis: Collect and analyse data to provide insights on cost performance and identify areas for improvement.

* Client Liaison: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Requirements:

* Education: Degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

* Experience: Previous experience in a quantity surveying role or within the construction industry is advantageous but not essential.

* Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, CATO).

* Numeracy: Strong numerical and analytical skills with an attention to detail.

* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

* Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

* Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, analyse data, and propose effective solutions.
