Mental Health Support Worker/ Complex Care Worker

Work hours: Part time, full time

1 Full time position as Team Leader

3 Part time positions to work under team leader.

Shift pattern:

- Day shift (10 hours x 3 days depending on clients needs)

- Potential Night Shifts in the future once bond is established with the client

Please note that when shadowing your shift pattern may vary due to the needs of the client.

Are you an experienced and compassionate Support Worker with a minimum of 6-months UK based healthcare experience working in the field of Mental Health?

Do you have experience working with mental health, challenging behaviour, personality disorders/ dissociative identify disorder (DID)

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of Yorkshire Community Healthcare who are looking for an experienced Support Worker with a compassionate and caring nature, ideally with experience in working in the field of mental health however full training and support will be provided to the right person. The ideal candidate will be positive, outgoing and enjoy social interactions and activities.

The client requires 1-1 care supporting with social outings, university tasks as well as supporting with daily living tasks, such as personal care, supporting with meal preparation, shopping and accompanying to appointments.

What you'll be doing:

  • Accompany client to medical appointments
  • Assistance with personal care.
  • Support with cooking and meal preparation
  • Create a positive and engaging environment through companionship and social interactions
  • Build a strong and trusting relationship with the client supporting to achieve their goals
  • Providing clinical intervention when required.
  • Working within a team environment.
  • Supporting with household duties

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK (unfortunately at this time we cannot support with sponsorship)
  • Must be a driver and willing to drive the clients
  • A minimum of 6-months UK based health or social care experience is essential
  • Compassionate and patient nature with excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing personality to connect with the client and create a positive atmosphere
  • Attend mandatory trainings in Leeds, West Yorkshire when required.
  • Note: All successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
