JOB DESCRIPTION: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:

Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom
Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans for students with SEN
Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Support students with personal care needs, as required
Monitor and record student progress
Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals

Required Qualifications:

Relevant experience working with children or individuals with SEN
Good understanding of SEN support strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

Experience working in a similar role is desirable

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
Ability to adapt to the needs of individual students
Strong organisational skills
Patience and empathy

Preferred Qualifications:

Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools
First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a classroom setting within a school environment. The candidate may need to provide personal care assistance to students with SEN. The position requires the ability to be patient, empathetic, and adaptable to the varying needs of students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
