About the Role:

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining high-quality mechanical installations, performing repairs and maintenance on machinery and site-wide, and ensuring the smooth operation of production facilities. This role demands a strong understanding of production practices and the ability to effectively support various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Fault finding during production.

Performing planned and predictive maintenance.

Assessing spare parts needs.

Effective planning and prioritization of workload.

Optimizing resource utilization.

Adhering to relevant legislation, company policy, and procedures.

Maintaining accurate and timely documentation and records.

Maintaining high standards of housekeeping.

Supporting other teams and functions as required.

Engaging in self-development activities.

Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Liaising with the Coordinator to establish requirements.

Conforming to health and safety procedures and policies.

Contributing to the continuous improvement of factory equipment and maintenance.

Maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Working to lean principles and practicing 5S.

Using computer equipment for data purposes.

Mentoring and supporting apprentices.

About You:

You are a proactive and reliable individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for problem-solving. Essential Skills & Experience:

Time-served engineer (or equivalent qualification).

Proven experience in a similar mechanical maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of factory processes and technology.

Experience improving and maintaining quality standards.

Familiarity with various factory equipment, including CNC and conventional machines.

Experience with planned and preventative maintenance.

Ability to read engineering drawings and quality plans.

Proficiency in using measuring equipment.

Methodical approach to systems and understanding of established work procedures.

Ability to make informed decisions and take appropriate action.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Strong verbal communication and listening skills.

Ability to work to tight deadlines.

Ability to support internal and external teams.

Ability to work across different sites.

Ability to maintain and improve effective working practices, housekeeping, and health & safety standards.

Ability to safely handle materials.

UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

Knowledge of robots.

Multi-skilled in basic electrical practices.

Foundry experience.
