mbi Medical are pleased to be working with the London Borough of Sutton in sourcing a Social Worker to join the Adult Fast Response Team.

Experienced Social Worker required for a busy first response team in Adult Social Care.

The Role

The team covers a locality in the Borough of Sutton and whose main functions are responding to safeguarding, providing a duty function and focused short term work.

We work within strengths based practice, supporting people to look at what resources they may have or what may be available in the community.

In safeguarding work we work within the principles of making safeguarding personal.

You will need to be able to work proactively, understand and assess risk, put in safeguards to protect people.

You will have monthly supervision and work within a supportive integrated team.

It is essential that those recruited have a good understanding of the application of the Care Act, the Mental Health Act, the London Multi Agency Safeguarding Adults Procedures, the Mental Capacity Act and experience of the application of the ethos and values of “Making Safeguarding Personal”.

We are looking for a social worker with a history of working within Adult Social Care and experience of working with vulnerable adults.

Experience of working with Adult Safeguarding is essential. Knowledge and experience of working with Continuing Health Care and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards is preferred.

The team would also benefit from someone with mental health experience to support the team's work with issues of mental ill health.

You will be able to demonstrate and evidence the following criteria:

Experience of safeguarding work and complex work.

You will need to have sound assessment skills.

Be able to prioritise your caseload and work autonomously.

Ability to analyse complex information and evidence in order to form a conclusion and to reach an outcome.

You will have had previous experience of working with residential/nursing and domiciliary providers

Ability to work under pressure, you will be confident in working in pressurised difficult situations where there may be issues of conflict.

Have the ability to work in accordance with the wishes of the adult; make decisions as to what follow-up action should be taken with regard to the person or organisation
