Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum

We're excited to be working with a well-established manufacturing business in Biggleswade looking for a progressive Accounts Assistant to join the team.

You'll be working alongside an ambitious Finance Manager to ovesee the day-to-day work whilst developing and improving processes.

Duties:

  • Inputting and processing invoices.

  • Tracking and matching PO numbers.

  • Ensure all financial records are entered accurately and allocated.

  • Prepare outgoing invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on overdue payments to support cash flow.

  • Assist the Finance Manager with project reporting and planning.

  • Review and reconcile bank statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

  • Proactively investigate any financial discrepancies, escalating issues where necessary.

  • Support the preparation of financial reports, assist with VAT returns, and contribute to month-end and year-end processes.

  • Provide assistance with ad-hoc finance tasks as required to ensure the smooth running of the finance function.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.

  • Strong knowledge of Excel and familiarity with accounting software (experience with specific platforms is a plus).

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

  • Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
