Mechanical Design Engineer - The Role:

Preparation of fabrication, layout and schematic drawings, assembly and sub-assembly drawings with bill of materials
Complete project-based, mechanical design and detailing work of machined components, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drive systems
Execute mechanical design calculations and analysis
2D drawing using AutoCAD, 3D modelling work using SolidWorks
Meeting engineering schedules for design and detailing work
Attend and participate in internal design review meetings and customer meetings
Answer queries from the manufacturing department as well as customers and suppliers relating to the prepared engineering drawings
Help prepare operation and maintenance manuals
Mechanical Design Engineer - The Person:

Proven working experience as a Machinery Design Engineer
Proficient in mechanical parameters and appropriate engineering formulas to perform mechanical design calculations, in order to determine critical factors and ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards
Knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mathcad
Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
Good time management and organisation skills
Located in East Glasgow, this role would be commutable from Cumbernauld, Airdrie, Shotts, Bellshill, Motherwell, East Kilbride and surrounding areas.
