Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of students? Do you want to join a school community focused on providing exceptional education and support to D/Deaf and Hard of Hearing students?

We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Practitioner to join our Resource Base, supporting students who are oral communicators and access mainstream classes. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team, providing key support to students with hearing loss.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer in-class support and adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of students.
  • Assist with hearing aid and cochlear processor maintenance, as well as support with audiology equipment.
  • Support the delivery of Personal Development and Culture Capital days.
  • Provide assistance during exam periods and on school trips.
  • Work closely with the Teacher of the Deaf to track student progress and assist in creating learning opportunities.
  • Participate in annual reviews and work alongside the team to communicate with parents and carers.
  • Help support the delivery of the Deaf curriculum and provide after-school support in the Resource Base.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths).
  • A passion for supporting students and helping them achieve their potential.
  • Empathy, resilience, and initiative.
  • Previous experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Signing skills are not required but are a plus. Support for BSL development will be provided.

This role is term-time only, offering 32 hours per week. The successful candidate will be committed to supporting our students, ensuring they receive a full education and are equipped to succeed.
