About the role.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our central Planning and Performance team. In this role, you will lead and project manage the design and implementation of a range of national projects to support regional Operational teams in the development and delivery their asset investment programmes.
Driving consistent delivery and reporting across our Operations capital renewals, improvements and maintenance programmes, you will work with central and regional experts to set clear guidance for regional teams in using processes, systems and tools. You will provide ongoing support, advice and challenge, as well as seeking regional feedback to promote and manage continual improvement as part of long-term monitoring of regional performance and process adherence.
In Operations, we will be delivering £7bn of renewals in the next five- year road period and you will play a pivotal role in delivering this. Therefore, your ability to influence and challenge effectively will be central to your success.
- Provide oversight and review of national approaches to the development and delivery of regional capital renewal, improvement and maintenance programme to ensure consistent and stable programme performance.
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, reviewing compliance to operational decision support tools and key project and programme delivery processes. Work with regionals to agree solutions and improvements that resolve complex issues.
- Provide strategic oversight of regional operational asset management decision making, including reporting to ORR.
- Carry out business planning activities to ensure that Operations has a clear delivery plan that is understood by the business.
About you.
- Proven track record of delivery within complex project and programme environments
- Experience of infrastructure asset management decision making and the application of support tools and approaches which balance cost, risk and delivery pressures.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, to collate, analyse data and information, identifying inconsistencies and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience of continuous improvement and change management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to communicate complex issues clearly, and engage and influence a variety of stakeholders including senior managers and external stakeholders.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
