About the role:

Are you a skilled and proactive maintenance professional ready to lead a team across multiple campuses? Do you have the expertise to ensure top-tier maintenance standards while driving efficiency and sustainability? If so, we want to hear from you!

As Head of Maintenance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our college’s infrastructure, plant, and equipment are operating efficiently and safely. You’ll oversee mechanical and electrical services, manage compliance, and implement industry best practices. From leading condition surveys to selecting a cutting-edge CAFM system, your strategic vision will directly impact the learning environment for students and staff alike.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and repair of M&E services
• Managing asset lists and maintenance contracts, adapting them to reflect construction and refurbishment
• Leading a proactive programme of plant room checks and in-house training
• Implementing a 5-year forward plan for M&E services
• Tendering, sourcing, and pre-qualifying new suppliers to ensure cost efficiency
• Overseeing reactive repairs while maintaining compliance with safeguarding policies
• Collaborating with Health & Safety and Estates teams to uphold the highest standards
• Supporting project managers in integrating new systems safely and effectively

What We’re Looking For:

• Expertise in M&E maintenance and compliance (SFG30/BSRIA knowledge preferred)
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing maintenance teams
• Proven ability to develop and implement long-term maintenance strategies
• Knowledge of condition surveys, asset management, and CAFM systems
• A problem-solver with excellent supplier and contractor management skills
• A commitment to health & safety, safeguarding, and equality & diversity
