A brilliant educational charity that supports vulnerable young people with their education and more, is in need of a Financial Controller following a recent period of growth to report into the Head of Finance and take over the management of its Financial Accounting & Controls team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a welcoming and high-performing finance team during an exciting time for the organisation and lead on the monthly financial accounting cycle, year-end accounts preparation, the annual audit and ensuring strong financial controls are in place consistently.

The role will pay up to £60,000 per annum and will be based one day per week in the lovely North-London offices.

As the Financial Controller your role will involve:

• Overseeing a team made up of a Senior Financial Accountant, a Financial Accountant, a Credit Controller and an Accounts Payable Function
• Leading on annual statutory accounts production and act as the main point of contact for the annual audit
• Ensure an efficient and effective month-end accounting schedule is in place
• Oversee VAT returns for the charity
• Ensure effective and efficient finance systems and processes are in place

The ideal Financial Controller will:

• Be a qualified accountant
• Have Financial Accounting experience from within the charity or education sectors
• Have strong people-management skills
• Have a passion for young people and ensuring they are supported
