Executive Assistant to Founder/MD
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience) + bonus + benefits
The Company
Birch Faraday Capital, a boutique private equity fund and advisory firm is seeking to recruit an Executive Assistant to support the Founder and Managing Director. Birch Faraday was set up as a search fund, a form of entrepreneurial private equity, established with the aim of acquiring lower mid-market businesses. Birch Faraday is focused on scaling its existing portfolio companies through both organic growth and executing M&A / buy and build strategies, whilst seeking to expand its portfolio further through the purchase of private businesses typically valued at between £4M and £20M.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Executive Assistant to provide dedicated support to the MD. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills and the ability to anticipate the MD’s needs in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of the MD’s professional life by managing schedules, coordinating high-level meetings, and acting as a trusted partner on administrative and strategic matters.

Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Manage the MD’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and events with an emphasis on prioritization and efficiency.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications on behalf of the MD.
- Coordinate and prepare materials for meetings, including agendas, reports, and presentations.
- Organize and maintain confidential documents and records.
Strategic Support
- Assist in tracking and managing key projects, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
- Prepare briefing documents and conduct research to support the CEO’s decision-making process.
- Act as a liaison between the CEO and key stakeholders, including board members, investors, and senior leadership.
- Attend and take minutes at high-level meetings, following up on action items as necessary.
Travel Coordination
- Plan and coordinate domestic and international travel, including flights, accommodations, and itineraries.
- Ensure all travel plans align with the MD’s priorities and commitments.
Communication Management
- Screen and manage emails, calls, and correspondence to ensure the MD’s time is focused on high-priority tasks.
- Draft, edit, and proofread professional correspondence, reports, and presentations.
Event and Meeting Coordination
- Organize and manage logistics for events, conferences, and speaking engagements.
- Ensure meetings are well-structured and productive, with clear objectives and outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role
- Skills:
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other productivity tools.
- Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a high-pressure environment.
