You will report directly to the CFO and play a key role in optimising financial operations, ensuring seamless functionality across the finance team, and maximising the use of Xero to its full potential. Your responsibilities will include applying best practices across all financial processes while supporting the growth and innovation at the heart of this forward-thinking business. You will drive the company’s success by fostering continuous improvement, advancing automation, and ensuring robust financial controls are in place and maintained throughout the organisation.
.Key responsibilities:
- Partnering closely with the CFO to provide strategic recommendations on optimising operational finance processes and reporting cycles, driving enhanced efficiency and accuracy across the organisation.
- Leading the automation of Xero, ensuring its seamless integration while fostering clear communication across the team to streamline financial workflows and improve data accuracy.
- Taking full ownership of bringing statutory accounting in-house, establishing strong controls to maintain compliance and ensure the highest level of accuracy.
- Overseeing and supporting the month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and precise completion with a keen focus on detail and accuracy.
- Continuously reviewing and refining internal control processes to ensure that all financial decisions are made with a comprehensive understanding of their long-term impact on the business.
- Proactively identifying and driving improvements in financial procedures, implementing best practices, and ensuring that all processes are thoroughly documented to ensure consistency, clarity, and scalability.
- Supporting the smooth integration of any potential acquisitions, ensuring financial systems and controls align seamlessly with the broader organizational goals.
The ideal candidate:
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a controllership role, with a track record of successfully improving and streamlining finance functions for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- A natural team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to foster collaboration, encourage transparency, and build a culture of openness within the team.
- Hands-on experience with Xero, with additional experience in system implementations and integrations seen as a valuable asset.
- Strong technical proficiency with financial systems and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
- An inquisitive, "can-do" mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, a keen eye for identifying process inefficiencies, and a strong numerical aptitude.
