Mechanical Design Engineer - Peterborough - up to £55,000 + Benefits - Ref 1346

I am currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work for a leading engineering organisation based in Peterborough. Salary up to £55,000 + Benefits,

The client is a leading engineering organisation that operate at the forefront of their market. They provide engineering solutions to a wide range of clients and industries, all of which varying in complexity. They have multiple sites across the UK and currently employ over 250 people on site, whilst being part of a larger group of around 1700 people. Whilst they are based in the UK, they also deliver their solutions into clients across the globe.

To cope with the current workload and in line with their expansion plans they the need to recruit for a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your main responsibility will be overseeing the integration and layout of process equipment, with a focus on machine guarding. You will also conduct on-site surveys to inform your designs. Expect to handle 2 to 3 projects simultaneously, with durations ranging from 2 days to up to a year.Essential Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years experience in a Mechanical Design role or similar
• 3D CAD Experience (Ideally Inventor)

Desirable Requirements

• Food & Beverage Background
• Previous experience with plant layout, factory design, process equipment design
• Experience with General Arrangement drawings
• Experience with pipework, P&IDs
• Site / Factory Survey experience
