Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Permanent Factory Manager, for a client located in Blaydon. Responsible for the short- and medium-term functions of the manufacturing operations within the company, including the implementation of manufacturing programmes and labour plans set out by the Production Planner, the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the plant and machinery, materials acquisition from stores and clear communication of daily outputs and targets.

Factory Manager Main Duties & Responsibilities:

To meet the targets set out in the Master Resource Planner
Lead the day-to-day management of the factories
Ensure that there is clarity of the requirements from each project through daily communication with the installation team and fixers
Ensure that the required product (parts) are available to enable delivery of completed product on time
Allocate tasks and projects to all factory personnel in a timely manager with all required information
Publish a short term (weekly) plan for production workloads and labour hours to ensure maximum effectiveness
Provide a short-term cutting plan and respond to changes as required by changing circumstances
Ensure 'next day' factory requisition requests are handed to the Production Manager, from all areas by 3pm each day to ensure delivery by 9am following morning (if in stock)
Provide accurate reporting information on the output of the factory for each project
Ensure that there is robust Quality Assurance Audit (QA) in place and that all completed material is signed off and identified as having been inspected
Ensure compliance with factory QA check list at all stages of product
Ensure each machine is safety checked each day, all machines have maintenance checks carried out and that weekly lean downs are completed, these must all be signed for by the operator as required and accurate records are kept
Ensure that all finished items are stored on stillages and/or in specified holding areas
Ensure that the dispatch of products from the factories are accurately recorded and that best practice is observed to ensure safe transportation. Ensure each consignment dispatched is accompanied by two dispatch notes
Carry out a Safety Audit every 3 months on all factory operations in conjunction with Production Manager
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures within the factory environment and stores areas (firs hazards, fire escapes, trips hazards, PPE, Machine Guards etc.) including fire alarm test and evacuations
Ensure that adequate stocks of consumables are available and that any required materials are ordered in advance through the buyerFactory Manager Applicants:

Salary is up to £45,000 DOE, working a day shift: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm.
