Contract ManagerHere's what you'll be doing

npower Business Solutions (nBS) is the E.ON UK Industrial and Commercial (I&C) pillar and a market leader in the B2B energy retail sector. I&C is a £6 billion revenue business serving c60,000 customers and around 300,000 meter points with a view to becoming the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Manager to join our team. For this role you will be accountable for the provision of the full deal life contract management of the entire Generation Services portfolio covering Power, Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs) and Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs), while ensuring costs reflect current and forecast market conditions, while providing volume and hedging risk mitigation via appropriate contract terms and conditions. This role offers the hybrid working approach, where you will be working in the office (Solihull) 2 days per week.

Key responsibilities

  • Accountable for timely and accurate contract management, ensuring customers are registered ahead of contracted start dates, are engaged in volume reforecasts, residuals, renewals, and notices.
  • Develop and deliver a capability within the Contracts team, to understand and interpret complex commercial risks, product structures, volume forecasting techniques and contracting process so that continuous improvement, improved efficiency, and automation are considered BAU.
  • Accountable for ensuring there is appropriate control in place to deliver robust and effective contract management, for all export power related products and environmental certificates ensuring DoA authorisation is adhered to and that effective risk mitigation is in place.
  • Provide monitoring and analysis of contract, product and technology specific performance highlighting significant variations between point of delivery and point of sale margin with significant focus on loss making contracts to provide root cause analysis.
  • Develop excellent relationships with stakeholders to share an understanding of products structures and volume forecasting expectations, fostering a collaborative and interactive approach to finding the best product solution for working with customers to manage contractual and volume risk.
What we need from you
  • Strong managerial skills and a champion of change.
  • Focused on delivery of results, management of deadlines and a driver of performance empowering the team to deliver through building a high performance culture.
  • In depth understanding of valuation and risk analysis methods and statistical analysis.
  • Strong understanding of commercial, financial and generation services functions.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial contracts and contractual risk mitigation.
  • Strong understanding of electricity and gas trading arrangements, in particular system imbalance.
  • Have good IT skills MS Office suite (especially Excel), VB(A), statistical packages.
