An award-winning local authority is looking for a Deputy Manager to join a new, state-of-the-art children's home in Guildford. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of the home, supporting children and young people aged 8-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and complex needs, assisting them in achieving stability and reaching their full potential.

About the Role:

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to lead a dedicated team in providing high-quality care and support to the children and young people. This role offers the chance to play a key part in developing the home, ensuring it provides a nurturing, therapeutic, and safe environment for the residents.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, with on-call duties as required. There may also be occasional weekend work to meet the needs of the home.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Regulations.

Supervise and mentor the care team, ensuring they deliver exceptional, child-centered support.

*

Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people to support their emotional, social, and educational development.

*

Take the lead on care plans, risk assessments, and interventions tailored to individual needs.

*

Assume management duties in the absence of the Registered Manager, ensuring smooth operations.

About You:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, empathetic, and experienced individual who is committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of young people.

Essential Criteria:

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

*

Working towards or willing to complete the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.

*

At least 2 years' experience in a children's residential care setting.

*

A minimum of 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.

*

Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and experience supporting young people with EBD and complex needs.

*

Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
