SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join an exciting and inclusive school community in Islington, London. This is an incredible opportunity to work 1:1 with a Year 2 pupil with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), providing tailored support and guidance to help them thrive academically and socially.

The SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

• Work closely with a Year 2 pupil with PDA, understanding their unique needs and implementing effective strategies to support them

.• Build a trusting and positive relationship with the pupil, using gentle and empathetic approaches to reduce anxiety and encourage engagement

.• Assist in creating a structured and supportive learning environment, using creative and flexible methods to meet the pupil's needs.

• Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and parents to ensure consistent and effective support.

What We're Looking For:

SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with children with PDA or similar SEN needs.

• A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children with complex needs.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families.

• A passion for making a positive impact in the lives of children with additional needs.
