Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Temporary Accommodation Placement Officer for a Local Authority Client based in East London.

In this role, you will secure and allocate temporary accommodation for homeless households, ensuring compliance with legislation and providing essential support throughout the process.

About the role:

You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

• Secure temporary accommodation for homeless households in accordance with legislation and policy.
• Assess and allocate accommodation based on support needs assessments and available properties.
• Issue decision letters confirming accommodation suitability within the Housing Act 1996 guidelines.
• Support temporary accommodation residents during the moving process, including arranging storage and transport.
• Match available Stage 2 units to suitable households and manage formal offers through sign-up appointments.

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

• Knowledge and experience in housing services, particularly in temporary accommodation or homelessness support.
• Understanding and application of legislation, regulations, and policies related to housing, temporary accommodation, and homelessness.
• Experience in assessing housing needs and allocating suitable accommodation based on support needs assessments and available properties.
• Ability to manage and resolve conflicts, challenging situations, and customer complaints effectively, maintaining professionalism and customer satisfaction.

What's on offer

Salary: £17.80ph+per hour

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday - Friday, 36 hours per week
