ENVIRONMENT:

A leading company in mining technology, specializing in advanced analytics, is seeking an Intermediate Next.js Developer to join their development team in Sandton. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building web applications using Next.js, including the new App Router and Tailwind CSS for styling.

DUTIES:

• Develop and maintain high-performance web applications using Next.js, optimising for both Server-Side Rendering (SSR) and Static Site Generation (SSG), while working with the new App Router.
• Build reusable, scalable components and user interfaces using Tailwind CSS.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure seamless, intuitive user experiences.
• Implement authentication and authorisation systems, ensuring secure access control across applications.
• Integrate with APIs and databases, working closely with backend teams and leverage Next.js API routes for server-side logic.
• Write and maintain clean, efficient code using TypeScript for type-safe development.
• Conduct testing and debugging to ensure stability and performance.
• Stay current with the latest trends in Next.js, App Router, Tailwind CSS and TypeScript to improve development processes.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards and best practices in the codebase.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5 years of experience in React development, with a focus on building web applications using Next.js.
• Experience working with the Next.js App Router.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and React principles, including hooks and context API.
• Familiarity with authentication and authorisation systems, such as JWT, OAuth, or similar technologies.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Next.js API routes and asynchronous request handling.
• Experience with version control systems (GitHub) and collaborative development processes.
• Experience in Agile development environments.

Preferred Skills:

• Node.js for server-side development.
• Familiarity with SQL Server T-SQL for database interaction.
