We are looking for a Construction and Groundworks Materials Buyer on a full-time and permanent basis to join the Procurement team located in the Yardley Wood area in Birmingham.
Responsibilities:
· Assisting with the procurement process of Materials
· Sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating with suppliers
· Maintain accurate records of purchase orders.
· Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
· Assist with material take-offs for bulk orders
· Assist the commercial team with pricing for project tenders.
· Ensure quality and performance of ordered materials are in line with required standards
· Chase deliveries from suppliers that are overdue.
· Assist in the resolution of any issues or invoice disputes with suppliers.
· Obtain technical data sheets and assist surveyors/project managers with any information required on project specific products when required.
· Prepare and compile project O&M manuals with assistance from Project teams
· Assist with stock returns on surplus materials from site and/or moving to new projects.
· Updating company systems when necessary (hires and off-hires).
Previous Experience:
- Must have previous Buyer/Purchasing experience within the groundworks/civils or builder's merchant's sector.
- Knowledge of framework agreements.
- Knowledge/understanding of ERP systems.
Working hours
Monday - Friday #removed# (40 hours per week)
Salary Circa £50K per annum.
20 days holiday + Statutory Bank Holidays Company
